I dreamed that I was MegaMan, aka the blue bomber. I was dropped off in a village surrounded by sand. The contours of the earth formed large valleys, cliffs, and rolling dunes in the distance with sparse vegetation. It was noon and the sun was relentlessly bright.
A map appeared in my field of vision with hundreds of red dots that I knew were enemies. I glided across the earth towards the closest enemy, buster guns on full-auto. The giant, red mech turned and responded in kind with a barrage of its own. I died instantly. That sucked but it's my world so... reset.
I avoided the killer red mech and set my sights on a smaller, yellow spider-like mech. My rounds bounced off its shiny surface and I managed to dodged its attacks. I spent a few minutes exchanging blows before I was distracted. Something in the distance caught my eye; it flashed every time my rounds hit the yellow mech. Classic video game hint that I should probably blow it up first. I set my aim on the glowing satellite dish and watched my rounds impact and shatter the fragile structure.
Immediately my map started to glow red and I could feel the earth rumble. It sounded like a thousand trains all moving on the same track. Every mech in the area started to move towards me. They formed a funnel and took turns accelerating and firing volley after volley of missiles and lasers at me. Luckily, without the dish most were destroyed with a single shot. And my newfound confidence meant that their attacks could not damage me.
